It was last year, almost the same time we saw a couple of Smart Shot Android camera accessories leak and become official from the Japanese multinational consumer electronics manufacturer, Sony, where at the company's IFA Press Conference back in 2013 they had announced the product's first iterates, dubbed QX100 and QX10. Following this an year later, today courtesy of Xperia blog, we get to see a set of leaked official Press images of their next generation and forthcoming Smart Shot attachment, again compatible with smartphones running Android and iOS operating systems, this time around reportedly naming it as the new Sony Smart Shot QX1.
But there are a number of upgrades and enhancements in the new looming device or smartphone camera, with it's model named confirmed as ILCE-QX1. Accordingly, the QX1 will introduce a E-mount for interchangeable lens, also sporting a proprietary Exmor APC-S sensor on board and built-in pop-up flash light. In term of the pricing, it hints the impending Sony Smart Shot QX1 is expected to cost around 300 Euros ($394) for only the body and 450 Euros ($709) with 16-50mm lens, now that's pretty expensive. Anyways, we will see more official stuff from Sony today, at their IFA Press Conference, 3rd September.
