Protect yourself from Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The best way to prevent the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic illness is by avoiding your exposure to the virus. Clean your hands often, use soap and water for at least 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol to clean your hands more frequently.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands or after being in the public.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Maintain a safe distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community.
Stay home if you’re sick and take help from local health authorities and medical professionals.
Make sure to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or use the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze. Properly dispose the used tissues in the trash, and immediately clean your hands with soap and water or a hand sanitizer.
Wear a face mask if you are sick or if you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. Do not wear a face mask unless you are caring for someone who is sick.

Alleged OnePlus 8 Pro leaks in a new live image, confirms 120Hz refresh rate on board

We have the all new and upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro here in all it's glory, if our sources are to be believed. Folks at TrueTech have managed to get their hands on a real life image showing off the possible new generation smartphone from the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer, OnePlus. From the screen of the professed OnePlus 8 Pro being featured in the shared image above displays the settings for the handset's screen refresh rates. In a recent Screen Technology Communication Meeting by OnePlus held in Shenzhen, China, the company introduced their latest QHD+ OLED Fluid Display technology with 120Hz refresh rates and now it looks like the forthcoming OnePlus 8 Pro will be released with this same panel on board. The sources have confirmed that the newly leaked image was sent to them from a regular and reliable tipster who claims to work at OnePlus. And taking a closer look, we can see the display clearly laying different options for choosing refresh rates between 60Hz to the highest 120Hz. Nevertheless it's still not clear if we will have the 120Hz refresh rates at QHD+ resolution or if it will be dropped to FHD, as this UI of OnePlus 8 Pro's settings does not provide us with any additional details, this could likely mean that the phone you see above maybe a pre-production unit. But the screen even goes well with the prior leaks, boasting the single punch hole style front facing camera positioned on the top left corner, as seen from the the most recent leaks on the phone's screen protectors.

The OnePlus Concept One may actually make it to consumers, but better late than never

fonearena sat down for an interview with the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of OnePlus, Pete Lau back from the show floor of Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, held earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. And as we read through their conversation, we see confirmations coming in from Pete Lau that his company is indeed planning to launch their all new Concept One McLaren Edition smartphone for the global consumers. The manufacturer first showed off this concept device back at this year's CES, that came featuring the electrochromic glass panel technology on it's rear, capable of disappearing the four primary camera sensors, giving the unit an uninterrupted design. For this magic to happen, OnePlus uses the color-shifting glass technology as seen from the sunroof of McLaren cars  in the past. So when asked about a timeline to expect the Concept One to finally make it to the international markets for consumers, Pete Lau's reply was recorded as,
There is no specific timeline yet, but it shouldn’t take tremendously long and we will keep pushing forward with the innovation.

Images of screen protectors for next in line OnePlus 8 Pro leaks, allegedly confirms punch hole display

Our sources have managed to get their hands on a couple of images that displays the screen protectors of the next generation and yet to go official OnePlus 8 Pro, the phone that has already showed up in a few CAD-based renders in the past. There are two different screen protectors being featured in the story here, the one you see above shows off a more flat piece of tempered glass with a cutout on the top left corner of the display, once again confirming the existence of a punch hole style front facing secondary camera, and then from the second protector seen from the below picture strikes a pose with an all screen protection highlighting the curved edges of the handset and tempered glass as well.

The phone is expected to make an appearance formally from the One Plus Technology Co., Ltd., alongside the vanilla OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Lite sometime in quarter 2 of this year.

OnePlus will reportedly launch OnePlus 8 on Verizon Wireless's network with 5G

ANDROID POLICE reports with "high degree of confidence" that, their sources familiar with the company's future plans have confirmed that the Shenzhen, Guangdong-based consumer electronics manufacturer will soon launch next generation and 5G capable alleged OnePlus 8 smartphone on Verizon Wireless's ultra fast 5G mmWave network in the United States. This will be the first time Verizon will offer any OnePlus smartphone through their network for the customers in the stateside. Accordingly, we also read that the purported OnePlus 8 on the carrier will launch with pre-loaded apps from Verizon out of the box, as well as traiting support to network features including Wi-Fi calling, VoLTE, and other functionalities from the subsidiary of Verizon Communications. We don't see the latest speculations include the names of OnePlus 8 Pro and the lately leaked OnePlus 8 Lite smartphones, though these models are expected to likely get an official introduction alongside the vanilla OnePlus 8 handset soon from the Chinese. However the chances of seeing the other two iterations of the eight generation OnePlus phone on the carrier's platform seems narrow at least for now.

One Plus Technology Co., Ltd., better known as OnePlus has sent out media invites to the press in China for their latest event scheduled for January 13, going live at 2:00 PM (local time) from the Shenzhen B.PARK in the country. The name of the event translates to "OnePlus 2020 Screen Technology Communication Meeting," which basically means the people from China are going to show off their next generation display technology at the event that will take place in three days time from now.

We can even see from the invite poster, OnePlus is kind of teasing different layers of glass, all hinting towards a new panel. Rumors suggests, we may see a display from OnePlus which will support the latest and highest refresh rates of 120Hz, as well as other newer technologies are in tow, like the latest versions of 3D Sonic Max fingerprint from Qualcomm, that traits a biometric recognition area 17x larger than the current version, also an in-display front facing cameras like the ones Oppo showed off recently, coming with an all screen panel and hidden sensors sitting under the display.

There is an update on the OnePlus 8 Lite's render we saw earlier

Remember we had brought you our report on the upcoming OnePlus 8 Lite smartphone that showed up in some CAD-based renders, revealing the design aspect of one of the next phones due for a launch soon from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus. The leaked render images was first shown off by the popular leakster, @OnLeaks and @91Mobiles from Twitter and now it looks like there is a small update on the version of device we saw earlier from Steve H.McFly, also known as @OnLeaks.

Interestingly, there was a new video posted by OnePlus on the Chinese video sharing platform BiliBili, where the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of OnePlus, Pete Lau was a part of a talk show in their native language and as the video progressed, we saw one of the member in the video bring a box of OnePlus devices to the center table, also teasing the forthcoming OnePlus 8 Lite by placing the purported smartphone on the front of the lot, thus confirming the design of the device to be very similar to what we have seen from the previously surfaced renders.

As mentioned in our previous read, we told you that it was surprising to see just two primary lenses on the back camera module behind the phone, especially in 2020, but now things look a little different from what we saw earlier. The updated model or the dummy OnePlus 8 Lite featured from the video shows the same phone, but this time around carrying a third lens in place of the LED flash we saw from the last leak. The LED flash looks to have shifted to the side of the camera along with what looks to be a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor.

While we await for the Concept One to debut in a couple of days time having no clue on what is all about from OnePlus, the Chinese phone maker posted a brand new video teaser on their official Twitter account, showing off a glimpse of the upcoming smartphone that will arrive in no time, featuring the world's first invisible camera on the back, that is said to embrace a color-shifting glass technology integration for the back camera module. The unit  carries a triple lens arrangement, aligned vertically and positioned towards the center top of the handset, alike other devices lately from the manufacturer, if we are not wrong. We don't find any kind bumps for the camera setup as the sensors are hidden under the aforementioned glass on the rear panel of the Concept One. The video begins by glorying the gold colored mute switch on the smartphone and offers us a look at it's rounded corners that appears to be painted in gold shades as well, and also the curved display from it's front.

OnePlus will bring OnePlus Concept One at CES 2020

Four days back we reported you that OnePlus is planning to bring something special to their CES (Consumer Electronics Show) event that will be held at the Wynn Luxury Hotel in Las Vegas, United States between the dates 7 and 10 of January, 2020. Following this, we now see the company's Founder and CEO Pete Lau again take his Twitter to announce that he and the OnePlus team will bring a sneak peek into the future of smartphones with the OnePlus Concept One.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is celebrating the 6th anniversary of their company and this time around they are planning to do things differently with the all new Concept One. We don't have any information regarding the Concept One from OnePlus as it still lives under darkness and will have to wait for more details as to what we are anticipating from the phone maker in the upcoming CES. But we are sure it has to do something with a smartphone and definitely doubt a launch of a unique device from the Chinese people to celebrate their 6 years of success in the industry.

Expect something special from OnePlus at CES 2020 in Las Vegas

OnePlus is all set to bring something special at their Consumer Electronics Show event to be held at Wynn Luxury Hotel in Las Vegas, United States between the dates 7 and 10 of next month, said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus on his official Twitter account. The original post showing us the invite to the manufacturer's scheduled event at CES 2020 was first shared by the Lead Analyst of PCMag, Sascha Segan on his Twitter handle.

OnePlus is well known for their partnership with McLaren and launching the racing edition smartphones, and as far our guesses go in terms of the new invite poster here, it shares similar shade of their McLaren labeled devices we've seen in the past. But other than that, we have absolutely no clue on what to expect special from the Chinese smartphone maker this time around as it's not their usual time-frame of the year for launching new OnePlus handsets, except for the fact that we recently took the wraps off their purported OnePlus 8 Lite, that showed up in some renders, which could supposedly make a formal appearance at the company's event in January.

T-Mobile just joined the 5G run officially in the Stateside, as the company started taking up pre-orders for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus and OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition smartphones over their 5G connection. It is also said that T-Mobile's network won't be blazing as the higher frequency mm-wave 5G signals that Verizon offers in the country, but when compared to Verizon's grid, the latest T-Mobile 5G network will work flawlessly both indoors and and outdoors, having better coverage. The 5G supported T-Mobile OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition will you cost about $900 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus will set you back for $1300.

OnePlus 7T shown off in a Gold color that never made it to the public

Yesterday, Rao Han, the Director of Industrial Design at OnePlus shared a picture with us on the Chinese social website Weibo. The picture of the smartphone he posted on the network was very familiar to us, but in a special and unique Gold color that we had never seen before. According to Han, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer goes through a color selection process prior to the launch of their smartphones, which either goes official in only one or two color variants, but in reality Rao Han and the OnePlus team tests out and considers dozens of color options before the actual release of the handsets. And the phone we see above was actually one among these tested colors for the OnePlus 7T which was never selected. We don't really think that OnePlus is in any plans of bring this paint job to the market but you never know.

OnePlus is finally bringing pre-order system in action

OnePlus is finally calling off their nail-biting invite system, for a full fledged pre-order system, where we can now order the OnePlus One smartphone through their official website. Yes, as expected by anyone, the new OnePlus pre-order system is a bit different from others, as the new start-up Chinese manufacturer will accept their pre-orders for the One smartphone in a limited time frame, where interested customers can place their orders directly to the manufacturer. And if the company has got the devices in stock, it will be shipping the units immediately, but if the smartphones are not available in commodities, your order will automatically become a new pre-order. Fortunately enough, there's no specific limit on the amount of orders that a customer can make for the One handsets, even though the there is a time limit. So, if you are going to place a number of orders, OnePlus will be showing you a longer shipping estimation date.

Accordingly, if you wish to not wait any longer for the shipment of your pre-orders, you'll be able to hand over your place in line, also cancel the pre-order, and even release the payment reserved for the One. It is also written, if a customer receives an invite while awaiting for a pre-order shipment, you can always ask to skip the pre-order queue and have your order shipped right away. Seems interesting? Well, this is definitely adding some excitement for the CyanogenMod One phone lovers like us in person, so if your looking for to the OnePlus One pre-order system like we do, then you'll need to be waiting for a few more days as it will be going live this late October, which is next month.

OnePlus One gets to CM 11S Android 4.4.4 KitKat via an OTA update

OnePlus has decided "Slowly Rolling Out" of the CyanogenMod 11S OTA (30O) Android next 4.4.4 KitKat update to it's current front runner smartphone OnePlus One. The new update and changelog will allow the OnePlus One users to fade all most all the problems they've been facing till date. Here is the list of upgrades and enhancements you will be receiving with the new over-the-air firmware update.

  • Upgraded to Android 4.4.4
  • Updated to new versions of Google applications
  • Added Clear Image
  • Added new (colder) calibration for the screen
  • Proximity sensor prevents activation of off-screen gestures while in your pocket
  • Capacitive touch keys supported in the recovery mode
  • Increased capacitive button illumination
  • Improved overall stability
  • Fixed issues with vibration being disabled during Quiet Hours
  • Fixed lockscreen not updating the track information during music playback

  • Fixed battery percent not updating in custom lock screens
  • Fixed PicasaSync
  • Fixed Camera "O" gesture activating lockscreen instead of triggering camera
  • Fixed wallpapers not applying in full screen, taking the wrong size when cropping, etc
Among the number of new refreshes and other changes in the handset, the new CM 11S OTA will also bring the very important (at least for the company) camera feature, dubbed as Clear Image.

"Clear Image is your camera on clarity steroids. It’s your camera over 9000. Once you switch on the new Clear Image mode in the Camera app, nothing but awesomeness will be captured. 10 individual photos are stitched together for a final super high-res photo when you snap a shot. Through interlacing and compression algorithms, the camera improves clarity, reduces noise in low light, and adds detail that other cameras cannot. But this is not all. Unlike other photo stitching software, Clear Image minimizes file sizes while maximizing for quality."
